What comes across

Your history arrives intact

  • Posts with original creation dates
  • Vote counts and individual voter identities
  • Comments with their authors and threading
  • Statuses, mapped to yours
  • Board and category structure
  • A redirect map so old links keep working

Five steps

How the migration runs

  1. 1

    Export from your current tool

Pull posts, votes, comments and users. Canny, UserVoice, Featurebase, Frill and Nolt all support export; for anything else a CSV works. We can do this step for you if you'd rather hand over an API key.

  2. 2

    Map statuses and categories

Your old statuses map onto ours once. Anything that doesn't fit becomes a category so nothing is silently dropped.

  3. 3

    Dry run and review

The importer shows exactly what will be created — counts per board, per status and per author — before a single record is written.

  4. 4

    Import and verify

Run the import, then check vote counts on your ten busiest posts. Author identities are matched by email so contributors keep their history.

  5. 5

    Redirect and cut over

Publish the generated redirect map on your old domain, repoint your in-app links, set the old tool to read-only for two weeks, then cancel it.

Migration FAQ

Most workspaces import in under an hour including the dry run. Boards with hundreds of thousands of votes are queued and typically finish the same day.

No. Assisted migration is free on every plan, including Free. We would rather you land cleanly than pay us for the privilege of switching.

No. Identities are matched by email, and once you wire up SSO your customers sign in with your product's own login and never see a second account.

The importer records each source URL against the new post and generates a redirect map. Publish it on your old domain and existing links, bookmarks and search results keep resolving.

Yes, and we recommend two weeks of overlap with the old tool read-only. You can re-run the import to pick up anything submitted during the transition.
